Hi Jan - I've started my Bio outline but wanted your input on whether or not I'm on the right track before I put any more time into it.

Talk to you later

*************

Born - December 19, 1943

During grade school saw smaller, funny looking humanoids and was told they were girls and I couldn't hit them back when they hit me, kicked me or bit me - only boys could be hit & kicked.

During high school discovered girls, dated girls and studied same

During junior college dated girls and studied same - see below

Met Gwen Smith, dated, felt strange emotional attraction, so continued to study same.

One day, I saw an airplane fly overhead (while being studious) and learned to fly while contemplating Gwen (girl) and what she meant in the grand scheme of things

Married Gwen to get closer to study project

Got job flying airplanes and continued studies of Gwen (still girl) seeking full understanding of same.

While flying airplanes around the world, continued with studies seeking understanding of Gwen and did I mention we had three wonderful boys along the way (two are pilots, one is a computer wiz-kid guy). We also have four grandchildren - two boys, two girls-absolutely fantastic little people

Still seeking understanding of Gwen but have concluded that I may not live long enough to understand her

I am not optimistic of full enlightenment before my term is up but I have a long time to go and am verrrry patient.

On December 16, 2003 I flew the last leg of my last trip as an airline pilot from Shinzhen, China to Anchorage, Alaska.  After over 38 years of airline flying (and rapidly approaching the mandatory retirement age of 60) it was time to hang the captain’s hat up and put on the retirement cap.  The First Officer on this last trip was one of my sons. It was a great finish to a great career (Great last landing too - J).

Since that time, I’ve been training Gwen to adjust to my being home and underfoot all the time.  Mary-Ann, in obvious sympathetic support, was gracious enough to send her book, “Honey, I’m Home - for good!” to Gwen for her help in adjusting.  So far, the learning curve is rather slow but as I said above I’m verrrrry patient.

We’re now full-time Alaskans, living in a small mountain resort community about 35 miles east, southeast of Anchorage. As I write this (November 9, 2005) it is a warm evening (compared to the last several days) of 20 degrees with some light freezing rain – this, of course, is after a full day of snow.  The ski mountain opens in several weeks – it looks to be a good year for skiing.  Of course, with a little less than 50 feet of annual snow fall, what else could it be?
