I attended elementary school for 8 years at Meadows Union (actual 3 years at Meloland and 1 year at Acacia), then we were sent to the combined school called Meadows Union.

As a very unspectacular student in school, my favorite teachers at Central were Mrs. Miller, three years of Spanish and Mr. Rose, Driver Education. After graduation I attended IVC for two years, where I majored in self-destruction. Then I attended the Calexico Campus of San Diego State off and on until I finally graduated in 1971. I married Johnny Talley, of Brawley, in 1966.

Johnny hired on at The District in the Power Dept. in 1967, where he earned his Journeyman in September of 1971. We had two boys in El Centro Christopher, born in ’69 and Eldon, born in ’71. We moved to McAlister, Oklahoma in August of 1971 and lived there until November of 1972 when we moved to Yuma, Arizona where our third child, Jennifer was born in January of 1973. Then we move to Prescott, AZ. I had Cancer a year later, but fully recovered.

August of 1974 brought another move for us, this time to Provo, Utah, and we have been in the same county ever since. We have lived in American Fork for 11 years, south of Salt Lake City about 35 miles.

Our three children married in 1994, 1995 and 1996 and have blessed us with six grandchildren. Our first son is finishing his Bachelors Degree at Brigham Young University, working in business full time and is a songwriter. He cut a CD in Nashville a year ago, but has still not gone full time with his music. He and his wife have three children.

Number two son is a Journeyman Lineman like his father and works part-time as an electrician in his "free" time. He and his wife have two daughters. Our daughter and her husband just moved to Maryland where he has taken a job in D.C. Jeff just finished his masters and doctorate at Syracuse University and she graduated from the local junior college. They have one daughter.

Johnny retired in April from Utah Power, and I stay at home and work on the yard and garden. We’re into fixing up the home, now that the kids are gone and I work on doing my family history and searching out where my family came from and obtaining records to piece together my family genealogy.

That just about sums up my life, I am grateful to the Good Lord for letting me have good friends along the way to strengthen and help me over the bumpy spots. I’ve enjoyed each person’s biography and thank you for taking the time to share your lives with all of us.

Here’s to seeing all of you soon and perhaps making friendships, which I was too backwards in High School to accomplish.
