Dear Jan: Here goes the first half of my life. After June 1961, I stayed in El Centro for a while. Worked at Sears in the office. Myra Jensen introduced to a guy name Don and it was love at first sight for me. Just like a Doris Day movie. We got engaged and were to be married in Oct. of 1962. It was called off. I never married the guy. With a broken heart and my diploma in hand I left El Centro and moved to El Monte, CA (LA) area got a job and worked with the youth at my church. Went to see my Aunt in Sacramento and met a guy named Leonard and in 1967 I got married and moved to Sacramento.

Went to collage and got my AA degree in Pre School Teaching. Worked at Nursery preschool for a few years and then was a teacher aide and got my first real break at a preschool teacher at Bell Ave. School in Sac and worked one year and the school lost it funds for preschool teachers. So, I was out of a job.

In 1980, after 13 years of marriage, I got a divorce This good friend of mine was also divorced at the time so she and I room mated for a while. I helped with her mothers business in Marysville, CA, after my room mates mother passed away.

Then my roommate and I came to Monterey for a little trip and loved the weather and beauty of it. So, we move that summer of 1986 to Monterey with no jobs, no place to live, but with a determination to live here. I got a job as a preschool teacher at a head start school. But after that year, they closed the school. So, I thought if I was going to live in Monterey, I had to have business to support my self and that I could count on. It was time to get into something else. I had a massage and loved it and wanted to get into the business. So, I went to a massage school and graduated in December l987 and started my business in January 1988. (The Midas Touch) therapeutic massage, which I work out of my home.

I went to massage school in Carmel Valley and drove right by Doris Day's house every time I went to class. So, you see you never know how close you get to things that mean a lot in your life.

I never had children and only been married one time. But who knows what can happen. I just live one day at a time and give it all I have!!!
