Marvin Stephen Lorensen

March 2, 1944 – October 17, 2005

Steve Lorensen passed away in San Diego, CA. after a short illness on October 17, 2005 at age 61. He was born in El Centro, CA. and attended school at Meadows Union; Central Union High School; Imperial Valley College; and San Diego University in Calexico.

Steve served in the U.S. Army in the 1960’s and later worked in El Centro for a local cable TV company for many years. He worked in the tel-communications department at UCSD from the 1980’s until the time of his death.

Steve was married to Yolanda Galindo Lorensen of Imperial and had one daughter, Mrs. Kevin (Malena) Glass of El Cajon.

Funeral services were held in Alpine, CA. at the Queen of Angeles Catholic Church. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.

He was the 2^nd child of the late Vivian and Melvin Lorensen of Holtville and had six brothers and sisters; Mrs. Edmundo (Paula) Marquez, Mrs. Steve (Dana) Cato, Mr. Melvin “Spike” Lorensen of Holtville, Mrs. Richard (Cathy) Bennett of El Centro, Mr. Jon Lorensen and Mr. Ronnie Lorensen, both of N. California. Other survivors are his many beloved brothers and sisters-in-law; Berry Galindo of Imperial, Eddie Galindo of El Centro, Socorro Halcon of San Diego, Julio Galindo of Hawthorn, Dorothy Wolf of El Centro, Joe Galindo and Tony Galindo of San Diego as well as many nieces and nephews.
