Julie Swerdfeger
Since 1961 I have had a very rewarding
life. It has had its ups and downs. I married my high school sweetheart, had 2
wonderful boys by him and took on the responsibility of raising 3 other
children. Got a divorce in 1975.
Then, I met the most wonderful guy in the
world, Donald Michael Burton, "MIKE", who married me and took on the
full responsibility of my 5 children along with his two from his previous
marriage. Then we had a daughter the following year. Julene Michele Burton has
been a blessing. She is now 24 and just moving out of the house into her own
apartment
I have been mainly a housewife with Burton
Heavy Equipment/Burton's Dump Truck Service as my secondary job for the last 25
years. Helping my husband by running the office, payroll, books and etc. in our
own home. I have kept busy with tole painting, (which I would love to do again
when we close the business); bowling and I love to play bridge once a week with
my group. We have 8 children all together and so far 11 grandchildren. The
oldest is 20 and the youngest is 1.
We are looking forward to the next
lifestyle change in the near future. We will be closing up the business and my
husband Mike and I will be having fun and enjoying traveling and seeing the USA
in the motor home. We celebrated our 25th anniversary this year in Hawaii. I
have been on airplane trips to Italy, England, France, Bahamas, Mexico, and the
eastern states during the fall foliage, Washington D.C. Cancun, New York,
Florida, Texas and Colorado. We have seen the western states in our motor home
and we have been on three cruises so far, Alaska, Panama Canal, and Hawaii. I
have indeed been spoiled!!! WE LOVE TO TRAVEL AND SEE NEW PLACES!!!
We are ready to relax and enjoy ourselves
and after 39 years of raising children and my husband working VERY HARD it is
time for us to enjoy the remaining good years while our health is still good. I
have been blessed in so many ways and I appreciate all the wonderful things
that have been a part of my life. I have had real traumas, but isn't that the
way life is? You never know what is in store for you but I have lived my life
with these mottos.
1. "You have to accept whatever
comes, and the only important thing is that you meet it with the best you have
to give."
BY - Eleanor Roosevelt
2."GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY TO
ACCEPT THE THINGS I CANNOT CHANGE; COURAGE TO CHANGE THOSE THINGS I CAN AND
WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE."
